Logic 9.1.1 - Snow Leopard - AD only showing up in Admin acc

Postby Uncle D » Sun Apr 18, 2010 12:18 pm

I have just installed the demo version. When I start Logic in an Admin account, the AU Manager sees AD. If I start Logic in a User account (that I normally use), the AU Manager does NOT see AD.

Please advise.

Update! only with Logic in 64-bit mode

Postby Uncle D » Sun Apr 18, 2010 12:30 pm

This only happens with Logic 9 starting in 64-bit mode. When starting Logic in 32-bit mode, the AU Manager sees AD.

Could you make an update for a 64-bit AD?

The 64bit version of Logic 9 is (as you probably know) brand new and might be unstable. I managed to get Addictive Drums 1.5.1 up and running in L9 64bit, but I had start the 32bit version of Logic first and do a "Reset & Rescan" on Addictive Drums in the AU Manager (Logic Pro menu -> Preferences -> Audio Units manager). After that I was able to load Addictive Drums in the 64bit version as well. Could you try that?

After doing "Rest & Rescan" in Logic 32-bit, AD shows up in AU-Manager. When then starting Logic in 64-bit mode, AD works but is not visible in AU-Manager.

I don't remember if this happened to me as well, but if Addictive Drums is up and running then there shouldn't be any problems. Right?

I agree, but then provide a clear explanation for installation for Logic 9 users 64-bit.

I'm having this problem too!

The same thing happens to me - AD will only work on an administrator account. However, it's not Logic that's the problem - it's every single DAW on my system - Cubase, Live, GarageBand, Tracktion, Studio One. This must be a deeper issue. What's the workaround? I'd rather not have to login to my admin account whenever I want to make music :-P

I'm using an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.8 btw.
