AD doesnt start with Reaper or VSTHost (Addictive Drums.dll)

Postby Graveworm » Thu Oct 21, 2010 7:41 am

Hi guys,

im from germany, so first of all sorry for my bad english.

Im really interested in buying AD since i ordered a jobeky edrumset with the trigger io some weeks ago.

After installing Reaper (64 bit version) and the AD Demo i tried to take a closer look into AD. I saw some nice videos on youtube, but the problem is i cant load AD in reaper or VSTHost.

Maybe i did something wrong with the installation, because i searched the Addictive Drums.dll file on my computer, and couldnt find it.

I cant find the solution, so i need your help what to do now.

Did you extract the files from the zip file before installing? Running the installer from within the zip file has been known to cause problems, so please try extracting the files and install again.

Hello,

here what I found,
when you launch REaper,
check the VST preferences
add a directory where you'll find:
Addictive Drums.dpm and
Addictive Drums.dpm.rsr

in my computer it's for an unknown reason there:

C://program files/commun files\DigiDesign\DAE\Plug-ins

weird shit but it eventually works since then

hope it'll help

I'm having the exact same problem. Downloaded AD, looked through all of AD's folders and no .dll file. So I read this thread, pointed reaper to the DAE folder with the addictivedrums.dpm/.dpm.rsr files and AD still doesn't show up in Reaper. Any help would be appreciated.

Why is there no longer a .dll file? I used the AD demo with reaper about a year ago and it had a .dll. This issue is keeping me from buying this software

The "Addictive Drums.dll" plug-in files are by default installed into these folders:

32-bit dll:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\Vstplugins

64-bit dll:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins

Make sure that your host scans the folder for the appropriate plug-in file.
