Creating Presets

Postby Phlendo » Fri Oct 30, 2009 9:04 pm

I own another companies' Beatles vst as well as Addictive Drums. I've found that AD is a way more stable & expressive program, and lately I've been meticulously re-creating the Beatles kits in AD.

I've spent a lot of time A/B'ing the sounds between the two programs, and AD can really re-create any sound you throw at it. Not only have I learned a lot about the filters, eq's and compressors in AD, but my new presets sound great! They are perfect for 60's and 70's rock music.

Thanks again AD for a great program that's stable and easy to use. :D

Any chance you could upload your presets :hyper:

I love great sounding presets more than anything, and I could share some of mine with you as well.

What was the program to which you were A/B'ing? Perhaps Fab Four from Eastwest?

Yes, it was F4. It's a great sampleset with (and this is just my opinion) a not so great software interface. Their installation goes great, but the GUI redraw issues, plus deinstallation process leaves much to be desired, plus their software updates have always left the vst in an unusable state.

Anyway, I'm just at the beginning stages of creating my presets (2 down with more to go), so I won't be making them available for quite some time. I'll keep you posted.

I so almost bought Fab Four back in the day, they were doing a bundle deal with Ministry Of Rock. Sad to hear about your issues with it. For Sure hit me up whe you have presets available.

Thanks!
