I've read, that one license enables the installation on two computers.
A friend told me, by reason of a pc problem (complete new installation of win xp) he needed a new (second) authorization id. If he would replace his computer with a new one, had he to buy a new license ?
No, you can have 2 authorizations at any time, and you can remove old ones and add new ones if you need, like wjhen buying a new computer. This is done by logging in to your account here at our site.
