New AD version with edrum/GM support!! [beta testing over!]

Postby Lars XLN Audio » Mon Jun 29, 2009 5:17 pm

Hello dear users!

In August, after our summer break, we will kick off testing of a new version of AD that will offer edrum and GM support. This will be a free update, available to all AD users!

If you are interested in being part of the beta testing team, please sign up here:

http://www.xlnaudio.com/beta/index.php?act=Reg

Note:
- This is an update, so you need a working authorized installation of AD to take part in testing
- Not all who apply will be selected to test, we try to get a broad spectrum of hosts/edrums etc.
- Previous beta testing experience is a plus.

Important: Don't have the beta installed while working on important projects, i.e don't install it if you're in the middle of an album recording with Elvis and the Beatles. The betas may cause problems, that's why we're testing them :)

(At the moment we don't have any info on release date)

As a potential new buyer of the product, if I buy today the actual version, will the new version or update be included in the price of version 1.1 ?

When You speak of GM support, does it mean that users of products like Band in a Box or Jammer for instance, would be compatible with the product ?

The update is free, so you can get 1.1 now without worries!

I'm not familiar with how Band in a box and Jammer works, if they load plugins etc..? But the keyboard layout (where the drum sounds are placed on the keyboard) will be GM compatible if you select the "GM map" in AD!

Sorry not yet. We're at beta 2 as of today, and we'll hopefully know more depending on how testing goes.

You're welcome to join the beta, but if you're going into an important project where you need 100% stability I wouldn't recommend it. (You can go back to 1.1 at anytime of course, but any work done in AD1.5 using a different keymap would not work as expected then..)

Honestly: thinking back to it, I am a musician & producer and I want to USE a software and not to TRY it :))
And AD works (and sounds) stupendously, but the beta, as you stated, could be not too safe in an important project.
So, I'll wait at least till I will have the very urgency to use 1.5.
But at that time the official release could be out..
Let's hope so..
Thank you :)

thanks. and understood! I want it to work well, too :-)

still one question: will it work with Roland's TD-10 and Live 8?

Hi...
I am just curious...will AD 1.5 have any other changes (apart from the Roland drum maps)...like interface changes or anything like that?
Thanks
